On the Brink...

Work and horses are a love hate relationship for me.  I work so much to afford this sport that I don't have time for it.  I get home later and later then feel stressed to get a horse ridden, groom the others, do my chores, and head to the house about 830-9pm.  Then feed the dogs, run the vacuum or some laundry, shower, eat, and by this time it is 10/1030pm.  And it starts over again the next day.

I've always had good intentions but by now I am over whelmed.  I bought Poppy thinking I had time to ride 2.  Then I bought Ketel thinking I would sell Tank.  Now here I am with 3 that need to be worked, plus the retired one, and the mini.  Something has to give.  I HAVE to downsize.

I got home late from work last night.  It was too dark to ride so I lunged Tank and he was wild.  Then the rain started so his lunge was cut short.  Everyone got a short grooming session before dinner and bed.  Fortunately the rain stopped so they could be turned out.

So here I am trying to come up with a plan cuz this ol' gal needs a break.

  3. You're one of the blogs that I read and think "I have no idea how she does it!" Good luck downsizing, I know you'll feel better once you do.

    1. I have always been a bit of a work horse. I don't know how to do nothing! But life changes and we get more work responsibilities and we get older and I just don't have the energy I used to.

  4. You definitely have a lot going on (at least a lot more than myself) but I know that once you can get back to a happier level of busy, it will be better. Crossing my fingers that the path becomes clear to you soon!

  5. I only have one horse and I board, but I have a dog, a cat, and chickens at home. Some days it is all I can do just to keep up with all of that + house work. I can't imagine having three horses at home.

  6. Do you have enough room to possibly board someone elses horse, someone who could help with the chores?

    1. I want to down size versus take on more but thank you for the suggestion. It's a liability I don't want to take on.
