Next I focused on my upcoming show with Poppy. Then several days before it they cancelled it. Lack of entries. Which is fine I suppose, we have so much rain here riding is impossible. Jumping is unthinkable. I'm having horse show withdrawal. I make it a point to not go more than a few weeks without showing. It's been 7. My next show is in 3 weeks. There's nothing close between then and now. Not even an unrated show to go school. The show next month is big. My class is run in World Cup format over 3 days. I really wanted a prep show before this one. The courses get progressively tougher and the jumps bigger. *note to self, skip wearing my white breeches in case I get lawn darted*
I'm going to start Ketel back on the lunge this week. Hopefully I can get back on him and see how he is feeling. My trainer offered to take him for a couple of weeks so I may go that route.
For now I am doing the "Go Away Rain" dance!
:( So sorry you plans have gotten messed up. Hoping the next show happens!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) it should, the show is also the Maclay Regionals so it draws a lot of entries. Now if the weather can cooperate...
DeleteBummer about the shows falling through! Here's to you guys doing awesome at the next show!
ReplyDeleteI mean, if you want to come all the way out this way, there's a schooling show at Canterbury this weekend. H/J with dressage classes added. I think the biggest jumper class is only 3'3"-3'6" but better than nothing?
ReplyDeleteHmmm I didn't know about that one. That's not far at all. I just didn't feel like trekking up to Aiken for a show next week. Who is putting it on? Canterbury is not my favorite place to show (sometimes the footing sucks) so not sure :/
DeleteNever mind I temporarily forgot that the brakes on my truck are having issues and I doubt my husband will have time to fix them before the weekend.
